Senor Santo Nino = The Baby “LORD JESUS CHRIST”………..The Patron Saint of Cebu = The Lady of Guadalope…….. In March 16, 1521 Magellan came and introduced Christianity. He gave the Santo Niño (image of the Child LORD JESUS CHRIST) as baptismal gift to Hara Amihan, wife of Cebus Rajah Humabon who was later named Queen Juana. At that time, not only the rulers were baptized but also about 800 of their subjects. THEREFORE, SINULOG IS THE CELEBRATION OF THE CHILD “LORD JESUS CHRIST”.

@angelinek88: lost? You can never judge a culture base on what you read…and worse, sa comments pa..
visit camiguin at punta sa mga baryo…you’ll see the real camiguingnon culture…visit ka sa sagay…i’ll give you a tour on the culture you said is lost..hehehe

February 10, 2010 - 12:28 pm
the camiguin culture haven’t lost my dear.. it’s still there. the trainer just added some of his personal touch.. aside from that, as what i know, the surigaonons and Camiguinons both came from a similar tribe called the Higaonon tribe.. so don’t worry too much..
February 10, 2010 - 1:14 pm
unsa man d.i sudlan sa lanzones?
alangan muingon ka nga silopin!!!

February 10, 2010 - 1:58 pm
as what ive read about other’s comments base on the lanzones festival wala na nga ung origin na culture talaga ng camiguin it should be preserve kac un nman talaga ang pinunta ng mga tao lanzones at iba nman ung surigao: actually i came from surigao one of the dancers also from the past years year 2005-2007. but the performances was really great!!!! congratz anyway
